About Denise Wong

Artist, Writer-Illustrator from Malaysia. A nature and animal lover since childhood, I started drawing animals when I was a small girl. Since year 2010, I started seriously paint animals with watercolour. In year 2011, I have published some children’s short stories in newspaper columns. In 2020 my series of works of brown bear and his friends are born. In 2023 I have discovered a passion in landscape painting and have started this journey of painting landscape of Italy and Scotland, in particular. I will be exploring other beautiful parts of the world as well as I search for beautiful landscapes as my painting subjects. Somewhere in 2021, I started writing and illustrating the letters from squirrel to his good friends badger when I was moving from place to place to live. It is until recent days in November 2024 that I finally able to settle down to get the letters published, and I am still writing letters from squirrel from time to time! It is a wonderful thing to write his stories, friendships and adventures with brown bear and friends. In my spare time I enjoy drinking tea, cooking, reading, singing, listening to oldies, classical music, walking and spend time in nature.
